I was playing as a Civilian last night and was killed by the British a couple of times and I got 2 minute, or more, spawn time. This happened every time I was killed by the enemy (3-4 times) and in the Wiki it says that if Coalition players shoot civilians they face several penalties

"The civilian player will respawn after only 10 seconds and his death will be ignored for all intents and purposes. "

Anyone got any idea on why it was happening?

So how do you become an expert suicide bomber?

thats from 0.75 release.... it has change for 0.8 someone hasnt updated the wiki!

 

 

the developers changed it so both the coalition and the civi now hav 2min respawns. to get the coalition to watch wat they shoot. and also so the civilians value there lives a bit more and dont go off and pesture coalition troops without the aid of their insurgent friends.

 

 

it was an issue of having alot of civis running around getting killed and only coalition forces getting the penality. a civilian collaborator in real life wouldnt be dancing infront of a US troop going u cant shoot me naanaananaaana! :p civis should be with their insurgent buddy all the time with their dressings and phones and binoculars.

 

 

 

here is the offical insurgency mode changes!

- Weapon Cache will spawn 1 PKM and 1 RPG, 10 min reallocation time.

 

- Weapon Cache has infinite ammo. Only source of ammo for insurgents.

 

- Insurgent tickets reflect the number of caches they have left.

 

- Insurgents will start with 12 caches, but only 10 of them need to be destroyed for coalition to win.

 

- Whenever a civilian is killed, arrested, or suicide, he will ALWAYS get a 2 minute spawn time. This is to avoid grieving. Civilian should stay away from combat.

- There is NO ticket gain for arresting civilians.

 

- Coalition loose 10 tickets when heavy vehicle gets destroyed.

 

- Coalition gain 10 tickets when a weapon cache gets destroyed.

- Killing a civilian as coalition will give you the following penalties: 2 minute additional spawn time & banned from kit request for 10 minutes. Coalition no longer get auto-killed for killing 3 civilians.

 

- Arresting any insurgent gives intel points.

Okay that does make sense. Now another one. What does the civi's phone do? I can't find anything in the 0.8 Wiki about it.

Civi's to me are just forward RECON.

 

I assume All adult male's hostile and shoot to kill.

HAHAHA seen a civi on al basrah i was jsut ignoring him letting him climb on my APC. Then he got his phone out lol. I told solo RUN HIM OVER...

Interesting.. I think I might go commander for insurgents from now on.. with my rego and their crappy weapons it's not like I can hit anything I shoot at.

takes a couple of weeks getting used to Rog... you missed all the ranting whilst you were on hols....

 

TBH I am better at the long range 'bull****' shots than shots 20m from the enema.

 

And on civvies - yeah the longest spawn I had last night was 250 seconds after my second death as a civvie... and that was the last for the night... only bright side is thinking the brit proabably had the same after he was eventually killed.

Yep the brit gets a huge spawn time plus they can't get limited kits for 10 minutes, plus the brit team loses 7 of their intel points.

 

Personally I think civilians are very underrated ATM, not only do they play the role of a medic, engineer, spotter, and more all at once. But if you force the coalition troops to kill you, you can slow down the rate they collect intel quite drastically.

 

I normally always try to have one civilian in my squads, they are damn useful.
