In PR, would you commit suicide if you were in a situation where you knew you were going to die and were without medic support just to stop being another notch on someone else's kill ratio ?

 

 

I have done this, bleeding out and alone on the battlefield. Particularly when someone is being a smartass.

Suicide where you take them with you is always better but that's for another poll.

it just means a longer spawn time so imo theres no point.

nah, when that happens i start shooting wildly, then throw a grenade on the floor infront of me when someone comes

would do it if I was in an isolated postion with a limited kit (e.g; HAT) and was wounded and infantry moving in on me to deny them the kit

I just usually either go out guns blazing, or if I'm out of ammo, do a bayonet charge. Couldn't care less if someone got an extra kill, the team loses a ticket anyway, and it's all about the team, not the individual.

I don't bother.. although with the new run times & usual lack of spawn points, I've found suicide to be literally the best way to get from an isolated point to group up with SMs or grab the humvee from main.

 

I suicide about 3-5 times per game, versus maybe once per game prior to 0.8

I don't think there is any point in denying your enemy the kill, if anything, try and take as many as their tickets before losing one of your own teams. As noddy said, doing it so your team can keep a specialised kit is very smart but other than that I don't see why you would if there was a chance you could kill the enemy.

I love PR because KDR doesn't count... so my suggestion is do whatever's right for the team... and anything that kills one of their troops is good as it takes a little bit of pressure off your squadmates.

Never thought about suicide to deny a person a kill..

I don't think it is a huge thing but i just wouldn't do it to deny someone a kill... Think i like the attitude of bringing them down..

Single players KDR doesn't count for that much in PR, but at a squad level and at team level it still counts and is worth watching.

From a 'sporting' pov, i wouldn't consider suicide as the way i look at it is if they put the effort in, they deserve the cred you know?

 

Its like in vanillah, if your chasing someone for ages in a jet have a great dogfight, you whittle them down to the point your just about to kill em (talking senario without missiles here) there is nothing that is more frustrating then to see them bail out of the jet. The way i look at it is your work for it, you've earnt it.

The only way to kill yourself

As most people have said points and kill to death ratios don't really matter in PR. They are a good indicator of who is a good/bad player but at the end of the day if your team wins you win, if your team loses your lose regardless of you individual score.

 

Suiciding means you have a huge spawn time and hence you will not be around to help your team win for an extended period of time. Not to mention the fact that while it ensures the other guy doesn't get the kill hence keeping his score down it also gives you a stack of negative points too.

I only suicide occasssioooonaaalllly if im in a **** position and need to be on the opposite side of the map (and squad has an RP down).

yeah i MIGHT jump off a building but only to prevent other team from getting kit, if i know they are coming up and i am black and white screen already i will walk off to deny them the chance, but not to deny the kill, only for strategic purpose.

0.75, I never used suicide (either button or killing myself in-game).

no medic around or other teams mates with dressings = rambo mode activated!

 

usually you can just steal someone elses kit and get a dressing if they have them

i'd probably crash to desktop before i had the chance to press the button,

 

but if i could i might jus go out gunz a blazin! like butchcasady and the sun dance kid! show NO fear!
