there is an informal Community night tonight! YAY!

 

first off thanks to Unky Darth for setting this up at such quick notice!

we apologise for the late notice also.

 

 

 

now its pretty simple there will be no password and there is only a limited space for 48. so get there quick.

 

there will be select number of maps on the rotation all of them large. the final list has not been decided but please refrain from posting map list suggestions.

 

as for the "guidelines"

 

please follow them do not lock squads and do not have a full squad of jus regulars. if there new faces invite or let them in. try not to waste assets either. also DO NOT swap sides at the start of the round jus to stay as US or because u dislike 1 side over the other.

 

if its not too much to ask invite the same new guy into your squad each round.

 

 

note: there will be admin's playing and if you continue to not follow the guidelines punishment may follow!

I'm on my way

I had a good night, I SL every match in "NEWBIES " squad and out of everyone I rekon there's two-three decent guys out there. Especially A.Lorne, he's come across from ArmA, never played vanilla and bought BF2 just for PR and was loving it, asked questions, followed orders and by the end ofthe night was abusing the dumb ass newbies who choose to pick a sniper kit after being told up front not to.

 

We bags him for [WC]

 

All in all a good night.

wow that teamwork night was great fun, best game ive had in a while, some of the new people seem to be really good at following orders

It feels to me that a large percentage of new players coming to PR are doing so because they have heard about what is involved in the gameplay. They want to play because of the teamwork aspect and the communication between players that doesn't happen in any other game. They want to follow orders, learn about the game and work in a tight nit squad and it makes for some great rounds.

 

There will always be a few nilla nubs that are just looking for a new mod to try out, with new weapons and new maps, but as the patches for PR have moved on and progressed, their numbers are decreasing. And when they do play, their gameplay just doesn't fit with the mod so they eventually will get weeded out.

 

More than anything I think that has been the big success of the new patch. The game is a lot harder and most rounds I find the most enjoyable part is running around with a squad, rather than actually killing the enemy, which I find very hard with a rifle. BUT, quite easy with an IED I love those things.

for seting up the server last night!

 

we didnt get a full server but there were a few new guys in there that were all keen. as per other posts not too much or any tardish nilla play...

 

so al in all a good few rounds. thanks for the other SL's for joining in and making the night work. i think if we organise another on the big server for 3 - 4 weeks time give plenty of time of advertising on GSA, whirlpool and other sites we could get a few more deddicated ppl joining the community!
