Yarh ill be buying it when it comes out. I wont bother with opf2 tho since its looking less and less like my style of game. (to prettyish/arcadish) as I think they are trying to market for the bigger population not the smaller serious gamer population.

all looks nice and shiney, just like arma did b4 lets hope she plays as nice as she looks this time.

Ahh, The reload while walking looks good huh Such a small change but a very good one! Its small improvements like these that will make it a much better game.'

 

The animals is also a nice added feature, One of the first if not the first military sim game to use wild animals in the battle field. (maybe they can be used to hunt for food in sahrani life lol)

 

The civs running away from action is also good idea.

 

I like the fact that I heard the guy said something like its about game play / experience not just about making all the little things render and look perfectly (when a guy commented on the grass) Good to know they are aiming on the gaming experience not just trying to make it look good with no replay value. Exactly what I want from a game! The experience, not the pretty flowers on the ground!

 

 

Also looks like they have @armaeffects on as standard.. lol.. Good to see more smoke, more cinema style explosions and smoke effects.

 

 

How cool is the slow motion free roam camera type thing.. Its like he is in the matrix.. lol

 

Hopefully steering is a little more sensitive to for cars, As its a little sluggish when you first start playing arma untill you get use to its slight delay.

That is what happens when you are young and have no family you can just buy them when they come out. I have to fight with the wife and then fight with the kids then I have to buy it online.

Suma has posted some unofficial information about the differences regarding performance in Arma 2 between Dual Core or Quad Core CPU's in the BI forums.

As said this is unofficial information and things could very well change when the game is ready for release.

We thought it was some very interesting information about a discussion where, till now, nobody really knew Arma 2 was standing regarding CPU support.

Our intention is to scale at least to some extent to quad cores (this means with quad cores you should have either better performance in some scenes than in dual cores). Therefore the game should run better on Quad Core compared to Dual Core assuming they both run at the same frequency.

That said, you can get higher frequency Dual Core for the same money as you could get Quad Core. My prediction is 3.3 GHz Dual Core will most likely run the game better than 2.5 GHz Quad Core, while both will cost you approximately the same.

One thing to note: different scenarios / workloads may show different performance patterns - e.g. it is possible missions with huge numbers of units will runner better on 2.5 GHz Quad Core than 3.3 GHz Dual Core.

This is only a prediction and things can still change before the game is released.

As long as its not going to require more system specs then arma does now and theres no major bugs, its gonna be veeeeeeeeeeeeerry goooooooood!

No doubt Ill be doing that to save you or to carry you to the next mission since your always the lazy one and aborts/restarts so you dont have to travel to far on foot. lol

Yep, or make no campaign at all and put all there effort into making a better game

 

I mean with the editor its not hard to throw up your own multiplayer or singleplayer games now is it

 

Vid was pretty good. Its going to be veeeerrry gooooooooood. Im glad I didnt waste any money on any pc games released in the last 12months. As theres only 1 im waiting for and trust will be the shiz........

The one thing that erks me about ARMA is the "clunky" feel it has as a soldier,

I really hope that "clunkyness" feel is toned down a little.

It does get a bit clunky, it was the first think that really turned my off Arma. Since then I have forgiven its flaws hoping that it will turn into the butterfly it deserves to be.

 

Seriously though, we are spoilt by games like BF2 and PR, and action movies etc. Soldiering IS clunky. Just not that clunky lol.

no it doesnt use the same engine.

Yes its always felt like that and I didnt like it at the start, But its not a fluffy arcade game its a simulation..

 

I would like it a little smoother moving from one thing to another. Its like it just needs a little lube in the joints.

 

But I think it ****s over any other games lately... Nothing has more in the way of items, weapons, cars, choppers etc and one big ass map.
