Today at work I was picking up cement blocks and found a redback on me.

 

I dislike two things in life, needles and spiders so having one that can kill me on my glove creeped me out.

chop its head off with a spade if oness handy . mate you should of come to new zealand , we have none of those ooglies . we do have a catapo spider but dont see them to often , they can kill a man . think the most dangerous thing out here is drunken pot growing natives hahahah .

Champsky, my dad had one kill itself on his stationary Land Cruiser when he was young.

 

Him and his father saw a moose in the road so they stopped. It looked at them put it's head down and charged. It rammed it's antlers right through the radiator and engine block splitting it's stupid head open and totaling the vehicle. Keep in mind that the 4x4 was stationary!!!

Rather deal with white tail deer they run away. Of course a angry Black bear is nothing to play with especially if she has a cub.

Snakes aren't too too bad, but you still want to be aware - I wasn't once! Pulled up on the side of the road for a piss out in the middle of nowhere, went to a hollowed out tree and found myself pissing all over a snake! Fortunately it was early in the day, still pretty cool, so it was probably sleeping

Your lucky he didn't bite you on end of it cause no one would have saved you

if i pissed on a snake i would scare it away for the fear of enraging the anaconda lol

I ****ing hate snakes......once when we were up at Wanneroo Raceway(aka Barbagello).

(I was playing Pit Crew for the day)

One of the guys was out doing a few practice laps and ran over a Dugite out on the track----the problem was that it had got thrown up onto the diff and when he pulled back up at the pits the damn thing came out from under the car and started heading for garage...I promptly pissed off in the other direction while the other guys were jumping up on benches and tirestacks...

 

A sack and a shovel solved the "Snake in the Shed " problem...

I hate them as well I have been face o face with a King Brown luckily he was a good 10 feet I grabbed a handful of gravel and tossed it opposite of him and he went after that and I pissed off to the house.

 

The other times have been while I was shooting lets just say a shot gun blast to a red belly black cuts them in half

Was wiring behind a meter box awhile ago, to find a web of the biggest fattest red backs ever. I'm talking abdomens the size of 20c+ coins. and because of the angle of site i had on them, my hand had been brushing their web for about 10mins before I saw them.

 

Another time I was under a house and I musta woke or disturbed a brown snake, scared the **** outa me, we stared at each other and both took off in different directions. I threw my pliers in the direction of it, and I swear thats the fastest i've ever crawled out from under a house

of course being a Agribusiness Manager and doing a lot of farm inspections you learn to check the gate posts when you step out of the UTE for the Brown buggers

We used to have alot of snakes and spiders around as kids where we grew up in the North and mum and dad still have a couple of acres of scrub behind them so a snake in the garden is a pretty common occurance. I remember my older brother having to drive my mum back to work in his car after she found a Dugite sitting in the passenger seat of hers after lunch. We still don't know how it got there. Theory was that it crawled in through the air con vents.

My big thing is crocs which I've had this dread fascination with most of my life. Swam in plenty of rivers as a kid but now that I'm older I wouldn't dare in most places we camped at. Can't even watch that Black Water movie without flinching.

back at our old place we had 3 snakes sneak inside at night (bugger if i know why) and just lay in the hallway, just imagine the suprise i got when i got up to take a piss!

 

Oh Oh also we had a 10 foot (i sh!t you not) python at our place a few months back, got photos and all, if i can find them ill post em up, was a big bastard too and had just eaten something. had a look for the cat after that too
