3ds Max Problem (No guide Lines)

Ok so when i first installed 3ds max the lines were there then after about 2 weeks they just didn't show... I have tryed reinstalling like 5 times and still not working... heres a pic to give you an idea...

So yeh any help would be great... And before anyone asks yes i have googled it but still nothing

    He had a much worse problem happen to him with 3dsmax...

     

    I installed dual monitors for him to work on, so that he could have references up on one screen, and the program up on the other, or whatever you modellers need.. he then got sick of having dual screens and uninstalled the other one and we put it in the basement. Then he started modelling again but none of his popup tools would show... turns out Max remembers their positioning, and was putting them where the old screen used to be... and he had no way to get them back! We had to drag up the screen again just to get his tools back :p
