Posted January 26, 200817 yr Two of my favorite films of all time are Escape from New york and it's sequel (technically a remake, exactly the same in terms of plot structure and premise) Escape from LA. These films were badass. I enjoyed LA more even though NY was definitely the superior film. NY was more of a dark bleak futuristic thriller and LA was essentially a action packed remake. Snake plissken was one of the most badass anti heroes ever created for film hands down. Here's some videos for those that don't know. Original 1981 trailer for Escape from New York: Escape from new york, "call me snake" scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGvFD-f8Ksg Escape from LA, Snake outfitted/Snake's theme scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yflTzanT0Ys And for those of you who play the Metal Gear Solid series, you may be interested to know that Kurt Russel's performance as Snake Plissken was the original inspiration for the Solid Snake character in the Metal Gear series. Anyway getting to the point of my post, Hollywood is wanting to recreate Escape from NY, and the man they want for the role of Snake is none other than Gerard Butler, better known as "SPAARRRTAAAAA" King Leonidas. Kurt Russel was extremely pissed off about the remake and fair enough, the character of Snake Plissken is partly of his creation. Whatchoo guys think? http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.
January 26, 200817 yr Yeah theu were damn fine movies, Kurt russel's black leather full length jacket and if I remember correctly an eye patch? Can't say if a remake would be that great maybe they could make escape from Coney Island hahaha http://matt.itsthemadhouse.com/na/sigs/na-sig-gruanch5.png http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/bulletmagnet.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/gren.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/ocrs.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/opagamaserv.jpg
January 27, 200817 yr Author Escape From LA was better then New York imo . Yeah I enjoyed LA much more, but NY was somewhat of a different film compared to LA which was an action film. http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.

January 27, 200817 yr Author OMG Lee Van Cleef - I forgot he was in this film. Always thought he was best as ... what was it.. Angel eyes? http://users.on.net/hindes/bigdy/valour.gifhttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5224/operationcrownribbon02py7.jpg yeaaa booooy.
January 28, 200817 yr Very old movie, The gadgets used back then are still hardly seen today. lol Hollogram etc. Remake will just be fool of hollywood special effects and pryro. Fear is another word for weakness.
January 28, 200817 yr Yes and with all remakes there is going to be ten tons of useless back-story, take itself way too seriously, and lose the fun of the original. Snake was just an over the top character, one dimensional character, and it worked. Bushball Victoria
