Hey guys I've noticed that the persistent scoring system no longer works in 0.7.

 

Not that I really care about my score or anything but it is a very useful tool for clan leaders to check up on their members and just fun in general to look at.

 

What's going on here is this a Dev decision or a local admin thing?

It's because of all the server crashes mate,

removing the stats was just another thing that was removed to rule out the stats as a cause for crashing the servers,

 

in time they "may" be put back on, but because my name isn't Kinsman or Richard or Mutant I'm unable to tell you "if or when" the stats will be put back on.

 

it's seems as though the servers have stablised so "in time" things should get back to normal.

I'm not sure if you were around for the 2-3 months of 5+ server crashes a day... but basically that was the situation... and NO ONE knew wtf was causing, so they eventually just removed everything from the servers and put them on their own box... and that's what we have now. Since it only crashes about 1-2 times a day now, no one is gutsy enough to mess with it because we don't want to return to the living hell that was the server crashes.

Yeah I was aware of the crashing issues, didn't know the stats were axed because of it. It would be nice to see the stat tracking back but of course the game stability must come first.

We very nearly lost our servers altogether because of the problems we experienced. Stripping the game down was the only way to get it up and running and stable.

For the time being it will have to stay as is.

In the future, when things have settled a bit, we will try to get the stats online again, but we can't say when or even promise 100% that it will happen at this stage.

Given the alternative of having no place to host and play our game, we will have to make do as is for a while.

The only reason I liked it was because it was easy to identify the regulars or the people new to the server, so that I could be less... harsh if they were only a private rank and randomly teamkilling. As it is, hard to know if they're inexperienced or just a tard :)

Yeah that would be a sound theory but alot of "tards" were playing all day everyday, all hours. I don't understand how you can devote that much time to PR.
