I got this Logitech Wingman Attack for free problem is it's a 15 pin plug and my mobo don't cater for it...

 

Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions..

I have a wingman lite & an excellent gravis joypad that I cant use anymore..

Be interested if someone has a solution to convert to usb...

 

I do have a rockfire USB converter, but, you lose allot of functions of the joystick/joypad when it is used..

i have an old microsoft sidewinder that has a 15pin to usb converter on it. it came with the joystick many many years ago.

 

have a look on ebay (search "joystick cable") or at second hand comp stores for them.

yeah someone said a usb converter does it keep all functions?

does for my joystick and winXP found it and set it up as it should be.

Yeah, I have the same joystick as Darth and it has the Gameport -> USB adapter official from Microsoft... and it retains all its functionality.

I took it back to Harvey Norman and it worked there but it won't f**king work on mine... no matter what I do...

Well I've played with the Logitech Extreme 3D pro and for the price, it was pretty solid and had a reasonable feature list:

As for the Saitek, they are butt ugly in my opinion, and I don't think BF2 supports force feedback, and there's no way I'd pay >$50 for a joystick [considering I play PR maybe 10-30% of my day, and I fly about 10-30% in PR, which equates to about 1-9% usage].

Time to start troubleshooting my friend.

 

What are the symptoms when you plug it in? Do the sensitivity lights come on? Does windows make the "blo-bling" sound of a new USB device?

 

What drivers do you have for the mouse? Are your chipset USB controllers properly installed. Have you tested other devices in the USB ports?

I think I've got a Logitech Wingman Extreme I think, had it two years now and if you've played FH with me you'll know how much it's been used and abused and it has no issues. It doesn't stick none of the bottons are broken and you can get them for $50.

 

I want to get the Saitek joystick and throttle combo because it looks sick! I love toys.
