Found this little program on the PR website.

Its not officially approved, but EA and Evenbalance are aware of it and said you wont be kicked by PB

gives you a wider FOV.

May be worth checking out.

i'll be trying this tonight, but if anyone else wants to give it a go let me know what its like.

Re: For those with widesrceen monitors

I gave this a try out..but i am having issues while zoomed in scoped. Movement while zoomed is not very smooth. Played with setting some was worse than others, but still couldnt get it to pan smoothly while zoomed. Did anyone else have an issue like this? Was playing at 1920 x 1200.

Re: For those with widesrceen monitors

Might sound stupid but 1400x940, whats my aspect ratio

I got 2 different copies of this thing *the one in the zip asks for aspect ratio

Tried this tool last night, seemed fine on my machine running at 1680 x 1050. Zoomed vision (chinese, US, MEC) was fine and not distorted.

Definitely a bit wider view than before. I spent a bit of time mucking with graphics settings too, looks great now...just testing for framerates.

Gruanch have a look at the material on the website - 1440 x 900 (16:10) is supported if that's what you've got.

Do I have to run it every time I play?

There's definately something wrong with this application - as Chinese on Sunset City it works fine when you are in un-zoomed mode and you can clearly see the "widescreen" effect happening when you toggle the ; key.

Zoomed, though, once you toggle it once it zooms all the way out but leaves you in the scoped view. Further toggling simply makes you go from widescreen scoped view to non-widescreen scoped view, but in both modes it a non-zoomed scope view! In other words, hopeless as you can't see anything.

Seems a bit too buggy for me...

hey guys... I just ordered the dell 24" screen (got it for $599 due to a pricing error, w00t)

What resolution should I run it with this tool when I get it on Tuesday...

big jump from my current 17" pos

dell??? eeeewwwwwww stinky lol

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Always run LCDs in their native resolution when possible. For 24" LCDs that would be 1920x1200. You'll probably need a 8800GTS 640/GTX to play smoothly with all settings maxed, especially antialiasing, since higher resolutions + Antialiasing demand high amounts of Video-RAM, which the 640MB version and GTX (768MB) have plenty of. The extra grunt doesn't hurt either.

If you currently have a POS graphics card as well, wait a couple of weeks and pick up an 8800GT 512MB... EXCELLENT VALUE!!!!

Edit:

And darth, thanks a lot for that tool. It seems to work really well on my setup... I haven't got any zooming bugs that others have mentioned ^-^
