October 9, 200717 yr Best ground attack platform ever built! October 9, 200717 yr Yeah, the Su-25 frogfoot, is just as good and proven in battle. Only in the initial stages no firewall was placed in between the engines. So when you lost one, you lost both. But latter it has proven itself, only its Russian, so that sums it up. The A10 is incredibly agile and can take a direct hit from a tank shell in flight. The ****pit is covered by a alloy mesh to protect the pilot. Also the plane is loaded with redundancy systems. The Vertical stabilsers are used to mask the engine IR, to prevent Ground to air and Air to Air missile locks. They had problems with designing the protection around the ammo storage. In the end they made several layers, to prevent unintentional detonation. To add to that is has self sealing fuel tanks. The main gun is also powerful enough to stop the plane in midflight at slow speed. So to save ammo and prevent this the gun only fires bursts. The company that made it (Fairchild) also make the Metro liner, which a few of my mates fly. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41/Porrirdge/test2.png E6600, 2GIG XMS2, 1TB RAID 0,Gigaybyte GA-P965-DQ6, Leadtek 8800GTX 768MB, X-Fi Sound Card.

October 13, 200717 yr Stall recovery on the A-10 wing design. On another forum I am on a former pilot explains the wing and how it is built to assist stall recovery on the A-10. A certified wing is designed with the root (the part closest to the fuselage) set at a higher angle of incidence than the tip. Literally, the wing is twisted. The idea is to have the root stall first with the stall (non-lift producing) progressing outward as the wing gets deeper and deeper into the stall. The idea is to maintain roll control well into the stall. Thus the outboard portion of the wing is still flying while the root is stalled. The practical effect here is in the first part of a stall, the wing loses the ability to lift the aircraft's weight. The center of gravity being forward the center of lift and the lifting moment now being less than the weight of the nose, the nose falls, lowering the angle of attack. Once the angle of attack comes down, the stall ends and the entire wing begins to fly again. This natural stall recovery built into the design protects against a stalled condition leading to an uncontrollable aircraft. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. October 13, 200717 yr you guys know of metal storm? its an Australian invention and can fire 1million rounds per minute. but my favourite of the metal storms is the 40mm grenade motor one thats real future devastation on the battlefield not this crappy A10 stuff When in trouble or in doubt, RUN IN CIRCLES SCREAM AND SHOUT!!! October 13, 200717 yr :jawdrop: :shok: :surrender: :eekout: NOW THAT looks deadly...... If we can mount them on an A-10 ,Then we will have a weapon... Muhahahahah:plane: +:robot: += http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif
October 13, 200717 yr better yet think of this. Metal storm can fire effectively 3 rounds before recoil hits. put this system in a rifle with burst fire mode. thats a burst fire without recoil! all 3 rifle bullets hitting the same place going through armor or a heap of people. Being an Australian invention it looks like we would have something in our arsenal to be proud of. When in trouble or in doubt, RUN IN CIRCLES SCREAM AND SHOUT!!! http://nanourl.net/46e85
