Posted September 28, 200717 yr just wanted to say if you've got the opportunity to go see Ian Moss' current tour... do yourself a favour. Even if you are not particually into his music, his guitar skills are worth the bucks to see. Went last night in Canberra...front row seats - even the girlfriend enjoyed herself. September 29, 200717 yr Friend of mine once went and saw Mossy, Said his guitar skills were second to none....... But he never saw Hendrix play There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/goodconduct.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/riflemanspecialist.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/infantryofficer.bmp http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/bullettime.bmp reportplayers@bigdgaming.net

Silverchair has gone too weird for me these days. Or has my taste changed?? Former Head Admin Check out the current admin list HERE
September 29, 200717 yr if they(s-chair) still had what they had when thet released "frogstomp",I might still be into their music. Ian Moss is a (living, unlike Jimmy),legend. but he doesn't seem be be putting much out these days. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee118/bahlye/bahlye007/mouse_zps73307fb2.gif

Noddy I saw Mossy about ten-to-fifteen + years ago at Tilleys, with just a drummer, a double-bassist and the man himself - fantastic blues... I was the most pissed person there I think - standing on a table and yelling my head off after each song, hanging off a pole... argh... went to get my t-shirt signed in the band-room and his manager signed it: "I saw Ian Moss and got pissed"... har... he's great... one of my all-time fave songs is his (with Chisel) version of "Georgia" from the Barking Spiders live concert... :headphone: "When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite." - Winston Churchill

October 1, 200717 yr I saw Silverchair in Canada when Frogstomp came out when I was still a teenager and they where fantastic. I loved that band so much that I was excited about their new stuff and then I heard it, over and over and over and I didn't like it the first time I heard it. Just like a lot of bands they got all soft and weird when they got older. I am no longer a fan. Powderfinger is rad! I also like Frenzal Rhom and other Aussie punk. Who is Ian Moss?? Sorry if that's aweful all. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. October 1, 200717 yr Yeah Daniel Johns became anorexic and all arty. He is a massive emo now. The only thing going for him is his hot arsed wife. http://users.on.net/~mperrin/images/les_mis_kindros.png You're all wrong, and I am always right, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you will be. That is all! Va Fan Culo
October 1, 200717 yr He's not emo, My Chemical Romance is emo and I actually like the angry emo music, Mr Johns just got all gay like. He needs to go on a bender or have his wife cheat on him so he can get all pissed off and write some decent music again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. October 1, 200717 yr He is the biggest emo of all time. He is almost the emo-king. M.C.R. is emo for sure, but they came after him. I would even venture that they are more punk/grunge more than anything now. And the first bout of Silverchair was good because they lost a lot of music festivals. Thats where they got Fat Boy from. Haha sucks to the music people who dissed the band now ey. Anyway Johns thinks he's god. He once said at a festival, We are better then the little people, we are on stage, or something to that effect. Turned a large chunk of their fan-base against him. His band even gave him a bit of flak over it too. http://users.on.net/~mperrin/images/les_mis_kindros.png You're all wrong, and I am always right, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you will be. October 1, 200717 yr Good post Kindros, I agree with your MCR thought as well, I love that band which almost makes me more gay then Daniel Johns.... When you say lost music festivals, do you mean as in they where dropped? If so I bet those suckers are stilkl kicking themselves! I'm glad that they where not dropped from the festival I saw Silverchair at, they used to be incredible! OOhh that's a rotten thing to say to the people who put all that money in your pocket. Did Daniel Johns really say that? I can say I'm better than him as my self esteem isn't so low that I can eat a steak and have 10 beer with it and not feel bad. I'm also working my way to financial freedom and at one point have as much fun as him with zero baggage that he's got. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/SirChuc/smokejumper3.jpg http://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/valorousunit.bmphttp://bigdgaming.net/images/added/awards/OperationCrownRibbon02.jpg Or as one of many thousands of Canadians have said, my guns are at the bottom of that lake. October 1, 200717 yr Hell yes he did! They festivals they lost we kind of a battle of the bads thing. I think the main one which they lost which brought Fat Boy forward was Dog Bite maybe. Can't remember full but I am pretty sure it was that one. This was rather early in their career when they were still from Newcastle High. The resentment kind of still remained because they weren't getting the attention that they probably should have. Much of the problem with good Aussie bands. There is only so far JJJ can go. It is when you get played like on a MMM or the likes that you get serious listeners. I don't care what people say I have listened to JJJ religiously for years, and some of the stuff they play is as course or musically pleasing as wet cardboard. But my criticisms don't just fall to a single station, the likes of MMM's are killing themselves also because they are releasing really good music too late on to the scene. For example "Hey There Delilah", it was only played last month, yet it was brought out two years ago. They make themselves look like fools because of it. And Kyle Sandilands isn't helping his station either, he tried to fight it out with Jay from Frenzal Rhomb, and just came across as a precocious prick without any music finesse. Well there was my rant. Also for those who like a bit of the ol acoustics, look for John Butler playing a twelve string. Very good. Probably one of my fav muso's. Couldn't help myself. http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/103000/John_Butler_Ocean.html Edited October 1, 200717 yr by [ZSU]Preacher http://users.on.net/~mperrin/images/les_mis_kindros.png You're all wrong, and I am always right, and the sooner you accept it, the happier you will be. October 1, 200717 yr Wow, you know your stuff! Thanks for the info Kinros, I like Silverchair even less now. October 1, 200717 yr Author Who is Ian Moss?? Was lead guitarist (and better singer) in Cold Chisel.... and before you go there I think you have to name three chisel songs to pass the new citizenship test Noddy http://i783.photobucket.com/albums/yy116/IINoddyII/aux1_zpsab5224fd.png

Probably one of my fav muso's. have you seen http://www.acousticseries.com.au/FrontPage.htm check out Nick Barker... fantastic song writing also http://www.acousticseries.com.au/Touring.htm good to see some of the old bands I used to see as a young pup are still going (perhaps not as strong as they were - particually in the case of Dragon).
