That's right , cruising around on the Project Reality forums and under the BSS (black sand studios) tab , there was a thread showcasing the first release of this new mod for BF2 called Fallen times.

 

I immediately urinated on myself with joy and rushed over here giggling in excitement like a little schoolgirl to inform you all.

 

You see I've always harbored what i thought would be a really cool idea of "Battlefield: feudal Japan" or in other words Samurais on the BF2 engine. This is about as close as I'd get im afraid.

it patches the mod so online gameplay wont work with it - just copy the mod's

folder and set up a dedicated SP version... like some of us have done with PR 0.6

O K....thats an interesting one(mod).

Controls and commands are stock BF2,but thats where the similarities end.

Swords,muskets,fireballs,canons and mobile catapults (on the "seige" map) .

It looks good,terrain,features etc but nothing spectacular.

Lots o blood and jagged weapons being waved around,no singleplayer maps atm and the servers didn't have many on(all seem to be euro servers,so tis middle o night over there).

Humans VS Orcs so its kinda epic medievel/gore/different.

Lets just say that a bunch of Orcs running towards your castle waving nasty looking weapons at you,is not something I've never seen in a BF2 mod...

Seriously it's a real bloody shame that so many mods die in Aus , there's some real gems out there.

U wanna have a battle later Ice?,what time do the servers liven up I wonder?.

And the mods dying thing is true,kinda "natural selection" I suppose _Northen exposure is a good mod(still in Development ,nearly all sorted-).

But As it needs special forces X-pack and u have to alter the short cut path to play it,people haven't gottin into it as much as a "D/L and hit exe" mod.

 

But I will be spamming that elsewhere once the final release is finished.

 

But yeah who wants a game of Fallen later..? CDU server has lowest ping(was on 295 there with no problems)

I have nearly reached my limit (Internet Usage - Bigpond 12GB plan) so will be unable to download and therefore try MOD.

 

so please critique mod ... and be honest.

Let me know what the MOD is like and whether its worth downloading. Bahlye provided enough info that it looks like I may try it once my new billing period has started.
