Seems like the community is extremely small for this game these days.

Its been a long time since I played Squad and after playing a round it seems the gamepaly is even slower than it use to be and I found it very boring and very little action even when I was always in the active/contested caps.

 

I guess I'm asking if it dying?

At the moment the player base has decreased a bit as most people are waiting for V10 to drop. You'll find that as soon as the big updates come along the servers will be fully populated and the game play changes significantly.
