Operation Report – Flow Separation
Objectives: Clear and secure CHARLIE → DELTA → BRAVO → ALPHA
Result: Mission Accomplished
The mission began with Squad Belfegor stepping off toward Objective CHARLIE, a compound dug in with enemy forces. As the squad advanced, RED Fireteam moved along the northern approach and made the first contact. They were immediately met with heavy and accurate fire from well-placed defenders, pinned down before they could properly manoeuvre. Despite being caught in the open, RED held their ground, returning fire and forcing the enemy to stay contained within their perimeter.
This bought time for BLUE Fireteam, advancing from the south, to make their push. Moving decisively, BLUE breached CHARLIE and cleared it room by room. Resistance inside was quickly broken, and the compound was secured. RED shifted fire north to cut down enemy stragglers trying to move in, keeping the route clear while BLUE consolidated control of CHARLIE.
The squad didn’t have much time to breathe. Orders came to press on toward DELTA, a farmstead further north. BLUE led the way, methodically clearing the buildings along the road, but once again came under intense suppression from defenders inside DELTA itself. Pinned down and unable to close the distance, it was RED who regrouped, pushed forward through the storm of rounds, and broke the defenders’ hold. Clearing DELTA cost time, ammunition, and nerves, but once the smoke settled, the farmstead was in Belfegor’s hands.
From there, the squad swung south toward BRAVO. RED took the lead, establishing a base of fire to pin the defenders inside while BLUE reorganized. The enemy didn’t give them the chance — volleys of fire poured out from BRAVO, catching RED in the open once again. Suppression pinned them down hard, and amidst the chaos, casualties were taken. Jelly (CLS, RED Fireteam) was confirmed KIA, a sharp and sobering moment for the squad.
Despite the loss, BLUE moved in to relieve the pressure. Using the chaos caused by RED’s suppression, BLUE breached BRAVO and forced the defenders out with grenades and close-range fire. The compound was cleared after a bitter exchange, and the squad regrouped inside, shaken but not broken.
The final push was against ALPHA, the last stronghold in the area. This time the whole squad moved as one. RED and BLUE regrouped, set their lines, and advanced together. Resistance was stiff at first — gunfire raked across the road and grenades peppered the compound — but the weight of the squad’s combined assault was too much for the defenders. Room by room, building by building, Belfegor cleared ALPHA. Enemy resistance collapsed, leaving the squad in control of the final objective.
Mission Outcome
The mission was a success: CHARLIE, DELTA, BRAVO, and ALPHA were all secured, enemy forces were neutralized, and the area was cleared for follow-on operations. The cost, however, was felt. Two men were wounded during the course of the mission, and Jelly — RED’s combat lifesaver — did not make it home. His loss was keenly felt in the squad, especially after his efforts earlier in the fight to keep others alive.
Reflections
This operation showed both the resilience and adaptability of Belfegor. RED absorbed the brunt of initial contact and enemy suppression more than once, yet still pushed through when it mattered. BLUE executed precise assaults at CHARLIE and BRAVO, keeping the mission moving forward when RED was pinned. Coordination between the fireteams allowed Belfegor to keep momentum even under heavy losses.
In the end, the squad held together, cleared every objective, and got the job done. The fight was costly, but the determination of every member of Belfegor ensured victory.
