What a year 2024 has been at BigD Gaming!
We have seen our media channels thrive, our Discord grow, and expansions in games across almost every genre. 2024 was packed with excitement and amazing people. So let’s look back at 2024 and relive the year that was at BigD Gaming.
Our Discord
The BigD Discord at the start of 2024 was 6,700 strong! Over the course of the year, we have seen massive growth, and as the year ends, we now boast a staggering 9,100+ members! This influx of new members and Discord growth is a clear testament to our dedication to hosting games and providing a fun and mature community space on Discord, social media, and our website.
Affiliated Groups
This drive in growth has been massively supported by the public BigD clan: [bD] Members and all our affiliated groups that call BigD Gaming home. These groups have been the heartbeat of our community for an incredible 19 years! Furthermore, affiliated groups have seen remarkable growth throughout 2024, with new partnerships and collaborations enriching the community experience and expanding our reach across various gaming platforms.
Admin Teams
Our admin teams have been the driving force behind our hosted games, providing us all with a stable and fun gaming environment. Their tireless efforts in managing servers, organizing events, and ensuring fair play have been instrumental in maintaining the high standards of our community.
Hosted and Community Games
This year, we continued to host and expand on multiple games and genres with great success! Here’s a list of the games we have hosted and continue to support:
SQUAD: Thriving with up to 3 populated servers, offering regular events, numerous affiliated groups catering to different play styles & drive to grow the OCE playerbase.
Hell Let Loose: Maintaining a strong presence with 2 servers, backed by a truely diverse, community playerbase.
DayZ: introduced our mates from Aussie Paradise to the BigD Gaming world, bring in their server & players, along with building up the eexperience via continous improvement.
Squad44: it had its starts over the course of the year - looking forward to 2025 with the Pacific expansion coming soon...
Pop-Up Servers
In addition to our core hosted games, we’ve embraced pop-up servers to offer dynamic experiences for our community. These include:
RUST: Introduced seasonal wipes and community-driven building contests, offering fresh challenges and opportunities for creativity. More coming to BigD on RUST in 2025.....
ARK: Supported both PvE and PvP gameplay with rotating maps, catering to a broad base..
Minecraft: community-built worlds.
Community Favorites
Alongside our officially hosted games, we also love to dive into other games where our community comes together for fun. Some of these include:
World of Warships: Hosted fleet battles and strategy discussions, with an active in-game clan under the BigD Gaming banner for shared good times.
Star Citizen: Organized exploration events and trading expeditions.
Crab Game & Other Social Games: Added spontaneous fun to community nights.
War Thunder: Featured squad-based air and tank battles, supported by an active in-game group under the BigD Gaming banner.
DCS: Expanded with training sessions and cooperative missions.
From The Media Team
What a year it has been for our social media! For those who may not yet know, BigD has been growing steadily in the social media space, with a presence on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. We’ve been posting developer interviews, community scrims, tutorials, and reels/shorts.
Here are some of the highlights:
TikTok: Grew to 5,400+ followers and achieved 2.4 million video views, featuring engaging clips and community shoutouts.
YouTube: Reached over 15,000 subscribers and 3.9 million video views, showcasing in-depth tutorials, live streams, and behind-the-scenes content.
This growth has been supported by a diverse and dedicated media team that has put in countless hours to fulfill our mission: “Bring content from the community, back out into the community.”
What’s Ahead in 2025?
New website coming with greater technical abilities, continued building of systems & automation, growing the community via new games, stronger [bD] Members group + promoting our affiliates.
