vietnam update failed to install after extracting from the zip file to root directory because access denied?

this is a problem with vista/windows 7's permissions, it's annoying as **** but all it means is you cant unzip files to anything in the programs files directory.

 

So unzip it to the desktop then copy it over or somesuch.

Have You Guys Turned off User Account Control ? Its The First Thing i did Since Vista And Windows 7.

Goto Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts\Change User Account Control Settings - Then Drag The Bar Right Down To Never Notify.

done it still error messages.

 

Oh well maybe it time to uninstall BF2 + mods and file it away with 1942

how do i copy it exactly? contents of mods folder or entire mods folder, and where to?

 

do i need to do each file into its correct category?

tried copying files into corresponding folder, no luck still crashes on Vietnam map load, other maps fine

You just copy the mods file to your BF2 directory, default will be C:program files (or program files x86 for win7 64)/EA games/BF2, it will ask if you want to copy and replace... click yes to all/do this for all).

 

So open the beta 2 file.

Copy the mods folder

Paste into the BF2 file

Allow to overwrite and hey presto

 

Edit.....you did have the PRV:Beta 1 installed already didn't you ?
